This year has been very busy, and for that I am grateful because more than anything else, I like to be useful. Most recently I have enjoyed evaluating several programs for our school district to assess the impact on academic outcomes. The longitudinal database built by the team now has more than 130 variables. My late-night fun (don’t gag) is building regression models to estimate the independent contribution of various factors (school and student characteristics, as well as program measures) to student growth and outcomes on standardized tests.
Over the next week I will be looking into switching banks because I need to be able to accommodate international wire transfers. I have the privilege of working with clients in Central Asia, and my bank is relatively small so it doesn’t have the IBAN and BIC codes needed to streamline an international wire transfer.
Here’s to a very productive 2014 to each of you!
